Phyllis Court ‘D’ were on the road today and put their undefeated record on the line at Winchester ‘B’ in the first meeting of the two clubs under Advantage Handicap rules.
Captain Paul Franklin was disappointed to have only drawn the team match 8-8 and felt there were at least two more games that should have been won, including his only loss as he lead his team with three personal game wins.
Only Daphne Spiers recorded a Phyllis Court win in the first round of four, but the other team members Steve Morton, Ruth Raunkiaer and Franklin all won in round two, and thereafter the team match scores locked in harmony until the final 8-8 result.
Phyllis Court ‘D’ have the postponed final round of games versus Caversham to play on Monday which will complete their unfinished team match which was suspended by torrential rain at 6-6 back in mid-June
